A University of California, Merced (UC Merced), in the San Joaquin Valley at Merced, California, is the tenth University of California campus. A campus groundbreaking ceremony was held October 25, 2002, and a foremost day of classes was September 6, 2005. UC Merced is the number one U.s. research university built in the 21st century.

Organization and Governance

Prefer tons UC campuses, UC Merced is headed by the Chancellor. A position has been held by Carol Tomlinson-Keasey since it was created in 1999.

    A few classes come taught via remote broadcast from either more UC campuses.

    Although set in a rustic locality, Merced has focused in maths, science, & engineering, like than literature & the art.

    Of note is that Merced operate a semester basis like than the quarter formulas for its academic term. A Berkeley campus is the only more UC campus in the semester formulas.
